OudsNieuws / OldsNews

In the middle of the railway station concourse stands a weird and wonderful creation made from papier-mâché. OudsNieuws provides travellers with the latest news and swallows up the old news at the same time. The combined newspaper rack and paper bin brings the cycles of information and paper to life. While the outer side of the bin for recycling old paper displays a still illegible pulp of letters, on the rack with new newspapers they are neatly rearranged into legible headlines about Obama, the credit crisis and other topical news items. OudsNieuws visualizes the superficial, vicious process of providing news services, while at the same time ensuring that less old paper is left lying around in trains and the station.
